AMANA BANK CROWNED SOUTH ASIA'S FINANCE ENTITY AND BANK OF THE YEAR AT IFFSA AWARDS 2022

Amana Bank PLC Sri Lanka was once again recognised with the Gold Award for Entity of the Year at the much celebrated IFFSA Awards, which recognises the non-interest based Islamic Banking & Finance industry amongst South Asian countries, including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Maldives. The Bank went on to further win the coveted Gold Award for Bank of the Year in South Asia as well as the Silver Award for CSR Project of the Year, owing to the Bank’s contribution towards the health care sector in its battle against the Covid-19 pandemic.

Organized by Uto Educonsult and held at Shangri-La Colombo, IFFSA Awards is the only regional awarding platform recognising the performance of the non-interest based Islamic Banking & Finance industry, for which institutions across the regions keenly compete with each other. In winning these accolades, Amana Bank competed with institutions from mature Islamic Banking & Finance markets such as Pakistan, Bangladesh and Maldives in addition to other financial institutions based in Sri Lanka.

Commenting on winning the accolades Amana Bank’s Managing Director/CEO Mohamed Azmeer said “We are honoured to have once again be crowned South Asia’s Islamic Finance Entity of the Year as well as Islamic Bank of the Year under the respective categories.
