National Development Bank PLC (NDB) emerged as the Silver awardee for Best Investor Relations at the recently concluded CFA Sri Lanka Capital Market Awards 2021.

The Capital Market Awards conducted by the CFA Society Sri Lanka recognised best practices in investor relations, stockbroking research, unit trust fund management, equity research and sector analysis reports. The event was held virtually via Zoom and saw organisations and analysts being recognised for their efforts in these categories with gold, silver and bronze awards.

The objective of the best investor relations category of the awards program was to recognise companies that practice active investor relations to communicate interactively with the investor community and to encourage best practices in investor relations. The process for selecting winners included shortlisting companies on the strength of investor relations practices and responsiveness.

The judges in their statements stated that most companies such as NDB continued with their IR calendar, despite the challenging external environment and provided uninterrupted access to investors to seek clarification. Meanwhile, virtual/hybrid analyst briefings and investor meetings introduced by some companies such as NDB have helped to open up these forums to a wider audience together with improved IR practices through the use of social media to make available their latest presentations & unedited transcripts of earnings calls.

NDB conducts dedicated investor relations with robust internal processes and dedicated resources to ensure that we add value to our shareholders and other related stakeholders in a meaningful manner. NDB has been a constant award recipient in CFA Sri Lanka’s awards program for investor relations since 2014.

This award comes in the light of NDB being crowned as the “Best Digital Bank 2021” at the Asiamoney Best Bank Awards for Sri Lanka. NDB was also crowned as Sri Lanka’s Best Bank 2021 by the prestigious Global Finance Magazine of USA, fresh on the heels of being recognized as The Bank of the Year Sri Lanka, by The Banker Magazine UK.
