Galewela Town to get Truly Sri Lankan Banking experience with Pan Asia Bank

Continuing to serve the nation as the Truly Sri Lankan Bank, Pan Asia Bank ceremonially inaugurated its Galewala Branch at a new location at No. 35, 35/1, Dambulla-Kurunegala Road; Matale Junction; Galewala, a spacious location, to serve its customers better. The Chief Guest at the opening ceremony was Mr Naleen Edirisinghe – Senior Deputy General Manager of Pan Asia Bank, while the Guest of Honour on the occasion was Mr Harsha Kurukulasuriya -Assistant General Manager – Operations and Administration of Pan Asia Bank. The senior management, members of the business community and customers from the vicinity were present on the occasion along with other distinguished guests.

The new branch is spacious and located conveniently for the benefit of the valued customers from all communities in the area. The branch will be open for business from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. on weekdays. Pan Asia Banking Corporation PLC reported a remarkable performance for the year 2021 to report a Pre-Tax Profit of Rs. 4,034 million and a Post-Tax Profit of Rs.3,075 million with growth rates of 42% and 50% respectively, while demonstrating the resilience amidst challenging macroeconomic conditions. The Bank’s performance was characterised by strength and resilience despite the heightened uncertainty due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Bank continues to report solid key profitability indicators which rank among the highest in the industry. The Bank maintained all its Capital and Liquidity Ratios well above the regulatory minimum standards. The Bank’s Tier 1 Capital Ratio and Total Capital Ratio as at 31st December 2021 stood at 13.82% and 15.97% respectively. The Bank’s Total Assets base stood at Rs.189.51 billion as at 31st December 2021 after posting a growth of 7% (approx.) during the year supported by the expansion in the loan book.

Going from strength to strength, the nation’s ‘Truly Sri Lankan Bank’, Pan Asia Bank recently won the Runner-up Award – Banking sector and the Merit Award – Corporate Governance categories at the annual National Business Excellence Awards (NBEA) organized by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka. It was also selected by LMD as one of the top 15 ‘Most Awarded Entities’.
