National Development Bank PLC (NDB Bank) Cards was recently recognised by the online shopping marketplace, Daraz for their extensive contribution to the Daraz customer network through its extensive Card member base and for driving its online purchasing. The award for ‘Tactical Campaign Innovator on the Daraz Platform’ was presented to NDB Bank at the Daraz Payment Partner Performance Awards 2022 held recently at Uga Residence, Colombo.

The Daraz Payment Partner Performance Awards is an annual celebration of payment partners and seeks to reward and recognise the contribution of bank partners towards the success of the platform’s business model.

Daraz is South Asia’s premier online shopping marketplace, backed by global ecommerce giant, Alibaba Group, and has successfully brought together consumers and sellers to create Sri Lanka’s largest e-commerce venue. NDB and Daraz tied up together during a time when the pandemic created a platform where buying and selling online was the norm, to provide SME businesses a method in which to sell their products jointly providing the Bank’s SME business owners with a platform to sell their wares to the customer without an intermediary between the seller and the customer. Further, the Bank has also partnered with Daraz for “Cyber Monday” special online offers every Monday exclusively for NDB Credit Card holders, offering additional site-wide discounts for the valued customers of both parties.

NDB Bank was recently named the Best Bank in Sri Lanka by Euromoney, making it the third major award received from the world’s most prestigious publications in financial services – Euromoney, Global Finance and The Banker. This win for NDB comes in the light of being named the “Most Awarded Corporate 2021” as per LMD ranking. The Bank was also recently named one of the “Top 50 Best Workplaces in Sri Lanka 2022” by Great Place Work, USA.
