Fueled by Passion to uplift Sri Lankan Youth: Pan Asia MasterCard Football Champions Trophy 2024

As the Truly Sri Lankan Bank dedicated to improving the lives of Sri Lankan communities, especially those of the younger generation, we are always looking for  ways to make a positive impact. 

A golden opportunity was identified in the district of Vavuniya, where football is one of the sacred passions among youngsters and there is no such platform to bring them all together.  With this spark, the Pan Asia Team took the lead with the regional team including both the Vavuniya branch and the North & East area office. 

Keeping up with our vision and the business philosophy, Pan Asia strongly believes in collaboration which is the best way to bring synergies. Master Card International came forward to partner with this initiative to create the platform Pan Asia Master Card Championship Trophy for young people for harmony, sportsmanship, and thriving for excellence.   

MasterCard International, a globally recognized financial technology company that operates as one of the leading providers of electronic payment solutions in Sri Lanka is also the issuer platform for the Pan Asia Credit cards as well. 

The Pan Asia MasterCard Champions Trophy provides an opportunity for more than twenty schools in the Vavuniya district to compete for the championship trophy. The event took place at the Young Stars Sports Club and Urban Council Grounds. Prominent figures celebrated the occasion with their attendance, including the Chief Risk Officer of Pan Asia Bank, Mr. Rangith Rajendran, MasterCard Country Manager for Sri Lanka and Maldives,  Mr. Sandun Hapugoda, Account Manager Mr. Buddhika Amunugama, Chief Manager Branch Credit of Pan Asia Bank, Mr. H.J. Umaharan as well as the Regional Manager Arul Kumaran and Branch Manager Mr. Joseph Ravankumar. The public\'s passion for football and their active participation provided a surreal atmosphere for the event.
