SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR – INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT

You should ideally;

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Basic understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems and server administration concepts.
  • 2 years of experience in system administration, with a focus on managing Linux and Windows server environments in a corporate setting.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory services and basic user management tasks.
  • Strong interest in learning and developing skills in system administration, networking, and cybersecurity.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals).
  • Added advantage as working with banking applications
You will be responsible for,

  • assist in the administration and maintenance of the bank’s Linux and Windows server environments, including performing routine tasks such as system updates, software installations, and configuration changes
  • provide support for Microsoft Active Directory services, including user and group administration, password management, and basic troubleshooting under the guidance of senior administrators
  • monitor system logs and alerts to identify potential security threats or vulnerabilities. Assist in implementing security measures and best practices to safeguard sensitive data and mitigate risks
  • assist in diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to server performance, connectivity, and application functionality. Escalate complex problems to senior administrators as needed
  • maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. Learn from senior administrators and actively participate in knowledge-sharing sessions to expand your skills and expertise
  • assist in the implementation and testing of backup and disaster recovery plans for Linux and Windows servers. Learn how to perform data backups, restore procedures, and recovery drills
  • collaborate with other IT teams and departments to support cross-functional projects and initiatives. Take advantage of learning opportunities to enhance your understanding of IT infrastructure and banking systems
