Set up

Connect your assistant

Pick your assistant. You need only the address above: no account, no key. Menu names change from time to time; if yours look different, find the connectors, apps or MCP settings.

Connect Claude

On claude.ai and in the Claude desktop app.

  2. 2Click + Add, then Add custom connector.

Developer mode is for paid plans on the web, and OpenAI renames these menus from time to time. On Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces an admin may need to allow it first.

What is the AnyBanQ MCP server?

A public address, https://anybanq.lk/api/mcp, that lets AI assistants which support the Model Context Protocol (MCP) look up the comparison data on anybanq.lk: fixed deposit and loan rates, credit and debit cards, savings accounts, banks, branches, exchange rates and unit trusts. MCP is an open standard for connecting AI assistants to outside tools and data.

Is it free? Do I need an account or an API key?

It is free, and needs no AnyBanQ account, sign-in or API key. Requests are rate limited per IP address to keep it fair for everyone. Your AI assistant may need a particular plan to add custom connectors.

Which AI assistants can use it?

Any assistant or app that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP, including Claude, ChatGPT in developer mode, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. Menu names change from time to time; look for connectors, apps or MCP servers in your assistant's settings.

Can it see my bank accounts or move money?

No. It only reads public product data from anybanq.lk. It cannot sign in to a bank, see an account, make a payment or submit an application, and it never asks for your name, NIC, phone number or account details.

What does start_application do?

start_application builds an anybanq.lk application link, prefilled with the product, amount and tenure you talked about. It takes no personal details and submits nothing: you open the link, check the form, verify your identity and submit it yourself.

How up to date are the rates?

Each answer carries the date AnyBanQ last verified the figure and a link to its page on anybanq.lk. Rates change often and the bank sets the final rate and terms, so confirm with the bank before you decide.

How is this different from AnyBanQ Agent?

AnyBanQ Agent at anybanq.lk/agent uses the same tools in a chat on this site, in English, Sinhala or Tamil, with nothing to set up. The MCP server lets you use them inside the AI assistant you already use.
