Editorial Policy
Last updated
People use AnyBanq to make decisions about their savings and borrowing. That only works if our comparisons are accurate and independent. This policy sets out the rules our content follows.
Our principles
- Accuracy first. Rates and terms come from institutions' own published information and are re-verified regularly. See our methodology.
- Independence. No bank or finance company can pay to rank higher, to have a competitor removed or to change what we write about it.
- Like-for-like comparisons. We compare products on the same basis — the same tenure, currency and customer type — and say clearly what is excluded.
- Plain language. We explain costs, risks and tax in terms a first-time saver or borrower can follow.
- Balance. Where a higher rate comes with higher risk, we say so.
How AnyBanq makes money
Comparing, reading and applying on AnyBanq is free for consumers. We earn revenue from clearly labelled advertising and from commercial arrangements with some institutions — for example when they accept applications through AnyBanq ("Apply now").
These arrangements never affect rankings. Rate tables are ordered by the published rate alone, and products from institutions we have no arrangement with are listed and ranked in exactly the same way. Advertising placements are marked as ads and kept visually separate from comparison tables.
Guides and articles
Our guides are written and reviewed by the AnyBanq team for general information. Figures that change — rates, averages, counts of institutions — are drawn live from our rate data, so they stay current. Where a rule is set by a regulator (the Central Bank of Sri Lanka or the Inland Revenue Department) we link to the official source and encourage you to confirm the latest position there.
Nothing on AnyBanq is personal financial, tax or legal advice. For decisions specific to your situation, speak to the institution or a licensed adviser.
Corrections
If something we publish is wrong, we fix it. Report errors to [email protected] or through our contact page. We check every report against the institution's published information and correct confirmed errors promptly; the "last updated" date on the page changes when we do.
Institutions
Banks and finance companies can send updated rates and product details to the same address. We publish an update only after confirming it against the institution's own published material, and we apply the same standards to every institution regardless of any commercial relationship.
