Where each bank sits
Each bar runs from the bank's TT buying rate (left, what you get for CNY) to its TT selling rate (right, what you pay). Further right on the left end is better for remittances; further left on the right end is better for paying abroad. The line is the CBSL rate.

CNY rates at each bank
The rate you get comes from your bank. These 16 banks publish their own daily buying and selling rates.
About CNY to LKR
The Chinese Yuan (CNY) is the currency of China. The rate on this page is the Central Bank of Sri Lanka's daily indicative rate: the number of Sri Lankan rupees for 1 CNY, published once each business day. When the number rises, the rupee has weakened against the Chinese Yuan; when it falls, the rupee has strengthened.
Common questions
- What is the CNY to LKR rate today?
- On 22 Oct 2026 the Central Bank of Sri Lanka's indicative rate was 49.72 rupees for 1 Chinese Yuan. It is a reference rate; banks buy CNY below it and sell above it.
- Is the rupee getting stronger or weaker against the Chinese Yuan?
- Over the past year the rate has gone from 42.56 to 49.72, so the rupee is 16.8% weaker against the Chinese Yuan. Over the last 52 weeks it ranged from 42.56 to 49.83.
- What is the highest CNY to LKR rate?
- Since May 2010, the highest indicative rate was 54.42 on 9 May 2022 and the lowest was 16.55 on 31 Aug 2010.
- Why is my bank's CNY rate different?
- Banks quote a buying rate (what they pay you for CNY) and a selling rate (what they charge you) either side of the indicative rate, and the gap differs by bank and by whether it is a telegraphic transfer, cash or a draft. Check the bank's own rates before you transact.
