The rate you get comes from your bank. These 16 banks publish their own daily buying and selling rates.
About SAR to LKR
The Saudi Riyal (SAR) is the currency of Saudi Arabia. The rate on this page is the Central Bank of Sri Lanka's daily indicative rate: the number of Sri Lankan rupees for 1 SAR, published once each business day. When the number rises, the rupee has weakened against the Saudi Riyal; when it falls, the rupee has strengthened.
Common questions
- What is the SAR to LKR rate today?
- On 22 Oct 2026 the Central Bank of Sri Lanka's indicative rate was 88.48 rupees for 1 Saudi Riyal. It is a reference rate; banks buy SAR below it and sell above it.
- Is the rupee getting stronger or weaker against the Saudi Riyal?
- Over the past year the rate has gone from 80.82 to 88.48, so the rupee is 9.5% weaker against the Saudi Riyal. Over the last 52 weeks it ranged from 80.82 to 89.92.
- What is the highest SAR to LKR rate?
- Since May 2010, the highest indicative rate was 97.25 on 9 May 2022 and the lowest was 29.19 on 14 Jun 2011.
- Why is my bank's SAR rate different?
- Banks quote a buying rate (what they pay you for SAR) and a selling rate (what they charge you) either side of the indicative rate, and the gap differs by bank and by whether it is a telegraphic transfer, cash or a draft. Check the bank's own rates before you transact.
